How to turn off or switch off the Nokia N73 blinking blue light LED?
I am sure that almost every Nokia N73 owner has been asking a same question on the first day getting the N73. Definitely, I am one this group of people!

In fact, the answer is in the Nokia N73 user guide, but there are just many “geek” not bother to read the manual.
It’s just a simple guide or tips to turn off the irritated blinking blue light.

Press the menu key (label as A), Tools, Settings, Phone, Display, and turn off the Sleep mode setting. That’s all to get rid off the N73 blinking blue light!

But, beware of the consequence by switching off N73 blue light!

According to N73 user guide, the blinking blue light used to inform everyone (including its owner) that it’s not “death”, but is in the deep sleep mode to save battery power reserves!

By default, N73 factory setting turns on the sleep function, which will black out N73 screen display to achieve optimum battery power saving mode.

So, the N73 blinking blue light is served as a power indicator. If you see the blue blinking while the screen looks blank and black, it means N73 is still power on. Without that blue light, no one could tell that N73 is power on, until any key is pressed to light on the screen.

As the screen is lit on and screen saver is playing to protect the screen from burning, the battery power reserve will depleting at faster rate and in turn shorten the battery life as well.

If you like to show off a customized slide-show screen saver, or irritated by the siren alike blinking blue LED, just turn off the N73 sleep function!

Anyway, I find that the N73 blue light LED is cool like a blinking star at night! And also its great power saving sleep function!

P/S: The N73 blinking blue led is also indicating Bluetooth availability!

Recover Deleted SMS From Your Nokia Device

If you own a Nokia phone you might be in luck, as there are very good chances of message recovery from your cellphone without need of any specialized data recovery software for free, simply follow the step-by-step procedure below for important data recovery:

1. Download and install this free mobile File Manager - FExplorer.
2. Launch FExplorer and navigate to C: if you use Phone Memory to store your messages (default) and D: if you use Storage Card as your SMS storage location.
3. Now navigate to and open “system” folder.
4. Now open the “mail” folder.
5. This folder should contain many folders named similar to 0010001_s etc. with files named similar to 00100000 etc., These files are the actual deleted messages, Simply, use the FExplorer inbuild text viewer to view these files, You will need to browse through every folder and open all files inside them until you get the required SMS.
6. Do Note that this trick does not work on Symbian 3rd Edition cellphones.

Accessing Hidden Apps (Navigator, Landmarks, etc)

This came up in a conversation with Ricky and as it turns out from checking around several forums, this little trick isn’t as well known as I thought. Did you know that there are several applications on your s60 3rd device that you can’t access? I would think that this will vary from region to region but I have yet to see a device with apps like Navigator, Landmarks, and Positioning freely available in a menu. Why? Don’t ask me. Enough people have been ranting lately so I’m not going to go there…

Using an excellent (and affordable) payware task manager called Best Taskman by Smartphoneware, you can access and launch the various preinstalled apps that Nokia didn’t want to share with you. By the way, in my opinion Best Taskman is certainly true to its name and is by far the best task manager currently available for s60 3rd.

Once you’ve installed Best Taskman you must first enable “Show hidden apps” from within the Misc -> Options menu.

Now simply scroll over to the “Installed” apps view and take a look around. You’ll find a bunch of unfamiliar apps listed there - some can be opened and some can’t.

Landmarks might be an interesting app for some. Using landmarks along with a bluetooth GPS receiver you can record your GPS position and then message it to another s60 3rd device user (or you can enter a position manually). They can then use your “landmark message” to navigate right to your position! Pretty neat when you’re trying to find your friends at a bar across town or meet someone in an unfamiliar city.

HOw To sign a Sis File

Despite the excellent guide created by DZed over on the Go Symbian forum, I still see many people having problems with signing SIS files on just about every s60 3rd-related forum that i visit. There are a few key steps that can be added to DZed’s guide that will help ensure your success when attempting to sign a SIS file.

As such, I’ve created my own guide that incorporates a few additional steps that should take care of all of the common problems that people run into. I’ve also added instructions to create your own key file (which is very easy) as many people seem to have problems with key files found elsewhere. Reinstalling Or Remove Nokia Themes

Quite some time ago I posted a guide detailing how to remove themes installed on your memory card that do not appear in your Application Manager list. Basically, this guide allows you to spoof your device - the installation entry is still recorded on the device but the improperly referenced theme files are deleted. It works like a charm but it poses a new problem: Since the phone thinks that the theme is still installed - but cannot find the theme files - it will not let you reinstall the theme if you decide to do so.

Getting around this problem is actually quite easy. I’ve posted this in the comments section of the removal guide referenced above but I see a lot of questions about this topic on various forums so I think a new post is in order:

Do a quick google search for “unsis 3.2″ - it’s pretty easy to find. Unsis is a PC app that allows you to unpack sis/sisx files and save their contents on your PC. Once you’ve installed it, simply follow these two steps:

1. Open uNsIs and load the theme by clicking on ‘Open SIS’, then browse to the theme file on your PC.

2. Press the ‘Extract’ button. 3-4 files will be unpacked into a new folder with the directory C:\uNsIs\temp\private\10207114\import (if you installed unsis to the default location).

In the directory listed above, you will now find the theme folder (with a long alpha-numeric name) that used to be on your MMC before you deleted the theme. Simply transfer that folder with all of its contents to \\private\10207114\import on your memory card (using Mass storage mode or a card reader). Viola! You’re back in business. ;)

Bluetooth and Infrared Shorchut On Nokia E61/E61i

This is just a short one for you today, but I found this little tip while browsing a German site dedicated to S60. Even better, it has sections dedicated to the E90 and E61/E61i respectively including themes and more. Granted I don’t read a word of German but thanks to google I don’t need to.

On to the tip. This very well could be mentioned in the user manual for the E61/E61i but this is the first time I’ve come across it and I’m glad I did.

Pressing function (1 above) and the control key (2 above) toggles bluetooth on and off from the standby screen. Pressing function and the character key (3 above) enables infrared.

So it looks like I can get rid of BT Switch now and free up my Own key. :)

Adding A New Infra Red Device To Tour PC

This procedure assumes that the infrared device is connected to a serial port on your computer. Use this procedure only if Windows did not automatically install an infrared device when you turned on your computer. Typically, Universal Serial Bus (USB), PCMCIA, and other Plug and Play-compliant infrared devices are automatically detected and installed.

To add a new infrared device:
01. Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click Add Hardware.
02. The Add Hardware Wizard starts.
03. Click Next.
04. Click Yes, I have already connected the hardware, and then click Next.
05. In the Installed hardware list, click Add a new hardware device, and then click Next.
06. Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced), and then click Next.
07. In the Common hardware types box, click Infrared devices, and then click Next.

Do one of the following:

01. If you do not have an installation disk for the infrared device, click the manufacturer of the device in the Manufacturer list, click the infrared device that best matches your hardware in the Infrared Device list, and then click Next.

02. If you have a manufacturer's installation disk for a compatible driver, click Have Disk. Insert the manufacturer's installation disk into the appropriate drive, and then click Next.
Follow the instructions that are displayed on the remaining pages of the Add Hardware Wizard to install the infrared device.

View the Properties of an Infrared Device

To use this procedure, there must be an infrared device installed on your computer. Note that the settings for the infrared device are configured automatically when you install the device, and typically do not have to be changed. To view the properties of an infrared device:

01. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Wireless
Link.

02. Click the Hardware tab, click the infrared device for which you want to view properties, and then click Properties.

Configure a Serial Port for Infrared Communication
Your computer must support an infrared mode for a serial port. Use this procedure to install an IrDA transceiver that is provided by the computer manufacturer. To configure a serial port for infrared communication:

01. Start the BIOS configuration utility for your computer. Note that the method for starting the BIOS configuration utility varies from one computer to another. For many computers, you can start the BIOS configuration utility by pressing a function key that is indicated during the computer startup process. Some computers require that you start by using special configuration disks. For more information about how to enter BIOS Setup, see your computer manufacturer's documentation.

02. In the peripheral or serial port configuration section, change the mode to IrDA or Infrared.

Troubleshooting
Installing an IrDA transceiver disables the serial port. Do not attach a serial IrDA transceiver to a serial port.

Downloading & Installing Java Files

Java files can be a bit tricky at times. Most of the time, after you have downloaded and saved the java file on your pc, windows tend to change the icon & extension of the file into a .zip.

And this will led to those not familiar with this issue to extract the file. Once that is done, you will see a lot of folders and files. This is not the right way but ofcourse theres a way to get around this. Heres what you should do instead;

First, on your PCs, launch Windows Explorer and then select

Tools>Folder Options>View and "un-tick" the Hide extensions for known file type.

Now only can you see the full extension of a file and change the .zip into .jar and send it to your phone.

Repairing A Corruptted MMC

Correct Treatment of your MMC:

Physically, memory cards are quite fragile pieces of high technology, susceptible to damage from various silly things like excessive heat, condensation, strong magnetic fields, physical damage from rough handling and/or bending! (similar to most electronic devices then..)

Given the natue of mobile memory card products, they are constantly being taken in and out of some form of interface with a mobile phone, a camera, a laptop, or desktop PC, or a separate memory card reader. The number of different devices they have to be able to interact with is in the thousands.

It is not too surprisingly, then that sometimes the state of the file system on the memory card can get damaged.

This may happen for a number of different reasons, including:

> removing the card from a device whilst an application is trying to read/write to it.. (Just be patient...)
> battery drain on a device whilst in use meaning an insufficent voltage failure whilst writing to the card.
> a poor implementation of the MMC standard on the device using the card
> poor connectivity software drivers on the device or the Windows PC/Mac
> physical damage like card or device being dropped, bent, getting wet etc...
> lots of others i am sure..

As often as not, the problem is not terminal for your memory card, but just a software issue ( or in physical terms, it could be called "a temporary disalignment of the all the bits and bytes on the card").

The fix for this problem is the same as for any other file storage device (like a floppy or hard drive) with corrupt or invalid file system, namely; re-format the file system.

Keep Your Symbian Phone Healthy

4, try to switch off your phone for atleast one hour in a day, in night you can do so, after all its a machine and i think machine also needs rest haha.

5, Use file explorer to delete unwanted files that still remains on your phone after uninstalling any application but make sure to delete only unnecessary file , else it could result in damage of ur OS.

6, Try to keep phone memory free use memory card for installing any application or for any other data storing & also keep ur memory card atleast 10 mb free , this will speed up ur phone.

7, Always charge your phone batteries when the phone shows battery low status to get maximum output from your phone battery.

8, Use antivirus like simworks which take very less space to keep ur device virus free .

9, Update your phone’s firmware regularly from nokia care centers so that in the newer versions of firmwares there is less chance for software bugs.

10, Always keep your bluetooth off unless its needed , it can catch some virus from some other device. and also will slow up your phone.

How to free up more RAM on your phone

Method 1: Flight mode:

Put your phone in "Flight mode" with Psiloc System Tools. Install System Tools, open it and select "Flight mode". This way you can restart the phone without your SIM card so there will be no running phone tasks in the background. Now you can have up to 3,5 MB of free RAM!

Note: ironically enough, Flight mode doesn't work when Smart Launcher is installed, at least in my case.
But i've also heard several reports of people who have both apps running without any problems.

Method 2: Smart Launcher trick:

Install Smart Launcher and open it. Go to Options, Settings and put Launcher ON.
Now plug in your charger and switch off your phone. Wait untill the battery meter appears and short press the Menu button (don't hold).
The menu should appear and now you can have 3,5 to 4,5 MB free RAM! (Hold Menu button to check RAM).

The trick is that with the charger plugged in, the phone must get a minimum software support for charging, even when
the phone is switched off. And somehow Smart Launcher has still got it's shortcut running and that's the Menu button. So when
you press the Menu button, you go directly to the Menu without any other phone tasks running in the background so
you trick the phone and you have more free RAM!
Note: when you unplug the charger, the phone will switch off.

Method 3: Menu :

This method I found it by myself, it frees a little about 100~200 KB but I guess it's useful sometime

Close your menu not by selecting the right selection key "exit", or pressing the menu key another time, they only hide the menu app but do not close it, to close it select the left selection key "option" and scroll down and select "exit"

So when you open an app needs more ram reopen menu and close it, it's useful when play low bit rate video in realplayer paradis.

Totally Format On nokia 3650 and Remove Some Applications

First Format your MMC: Menu > Extras > Memory > Options > Format mem. card > Yes.
Note: It is very important to format your MMC before you format your phone!
Then format your phone by typing *#7370# on main Phone screen.
Phone will ask: "Restore all original phone settings? Phone will restart." Press 'Yes' and enter your Lock code (default is 12345).
Tip: Formatting takes several minutes so you'd better connect your Nokia 3650
to a charger to ensure that your battery doesn't get empty in the middle of formatting.
Note: All your created acces points and mailboxes will be lost so take a note of them. And all application settings will be reset.
E.g. In Camera, image quality is set back to normal and memory in use is set back to phone memory. And also in Messages,
memory in use is set back to phone memory, etc. Also backup your contacts with PC Suite or a program like Contacts Manager.

Start up in Safe Mode so no 'auto start' apps will be running

To make sure that no memory-resident programs start when you reboot your phone,
hold down the pencil key when you turn on the phone and hold it on untill you have to enter your PIN code.
(When you have trouble booting up the phone with the MMC in it because it got corrupted for some reason, this trick will
almost always let you boot up the phone so you can remove the latest installed app which might have caused the
problem or if your phone is "unrepairable" you can still back up your important data before you do a format.)

How to copy & paste text in your Nokia 3650:
Press and hold the pencil key and select your text using the scroll key.
Left function key will change to 'Copy'. Press it to copy the selected text to clipboard.
You can paste the clipboard contents the same way:
press and hold the pencil key and press 'Paste'. Or, press pencil key once and select 'Paste'.

Press and hold the Menu key to open the application switching window, where you can *duh* switch between applications.
If a program hangs and you can't shut it down, select the application in the
application switching window and press 'C' to kill it. It's also a faster way to exit programs.

Turn on/off the "click" sound made by the camera by selecting the 'Silent' profile or by turning warning tones on/off:
Menu > Profiles > "select your activated profile" > Personalise > Warning tones > On/Off.
(This also effects the sound of Java games and apps).

To change background image go to:

Delete all messages from your Inbox at once:

While writing text, press "#" to switch between upper and lower case and Dictonary on/off (predictive text input).

Keyboard shortcuts for zooming and rotating images in Images:
1 = zoom in, 0 = zoom out, press and hold to return to the normal view.

In standby mode, press and hold the right soft key to activate voice dialling.
To add a voice tag to a phone number, open a contact card and scroll to the phone number and select:
Options > Add voice tag.

You can customize both soft keys located below the screen (in standby mode):

In standby mode. press scroll key center (joystick) to go directly to Contacts.

First up, you need to know what Bluetooth is. There are lots of types of modern devices that incorporate Bluetooth as one of their many features. PDAs, mobile phones and laptops are a few of these modern devices. Bluetooth means that Bluetooth enabled devices can send things like phonebook/address book contacts, pictures & notes to other Bluetooth enabled devices wirelessly over a range of about 10 metres. So, we've got past the boring part. Now, using a phone with Bluetooth, you can create a phonebook contact and write a message, eg. 'Hello, you've been bluejacked', in the 'Name' field. Save Battery life on Nokia E51

Just simple tips for you all
Switching your network mode to GSM instead of dual mode will always make a difference (as its not searching for a 3G signal which I believe is a big drain). But obviously you might not want to do this

Also having bluetooth not on obviously makes a difference.

Having your 'packet data' setting on 'When needed' and not on 'When available'.

Having your display brightness turned down.

Having the backlight go off after 10 seconds instead of 30 which mine seemed to be defaulted to.

Having the basic date/time screen saver kick in after 20 seconds or so rather than whatever its on.

Nokia 5730 Express Music Reviews

The Nokia 5730 is another phone from Nokia in the Xpressmusic range from Nokia. The 5730 is a large phone and measures 112mm x 51mm x 15.4mm and weighs 135 grams. The phone is dominated by a 2.4 inch screen. Beneath the screen there are a few call related buttons and a NavPad, as well as a full standard keypad with the keys having a raised profile. The full QWERTY keyboard slides out from the side and makes it possible to not only type sms's fast, but also emails and surfing the internet and blogging. The Nokia 5730 is available in a variety of colours such as red, silver, pink, and blue.

There is a built-in music player that will support all the popular music formats (formats (MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ & eAAC+), and an FM Radio. Nokia have decided to include a 3.5mm jack, which is great so that you can use your own set of headphones. There is 100 mega bytes of internal memory, and this can be increased to a huge 16GB by adding a microSD card. One of the advanced features in the Nokia 5730 is called Say & Play, which allows you to change songs and volumes with your voice commands.

The camera is pretty good with 3.2 mega pixels, an LED Flash, autofocus and 8 times digital zoom. A few of the advanced camera features include carl zeiss optic lens, full screen view photo finder, red eye reduction and a self-timer.

Application-wise the Nokia 5730 has all the standards, as well as some advanced features like VOIP call, A GPS Navigaion, and a handsfree speakerphone. Internet connection is good with 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth, EDGE and WLAN wifi.
In summary, the Nokia 5730 is a great looking, full QWERTY keyboard, with excellent internet connection.

Nokia has just revealed the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic handset. In the same vein as it’s 5800 XpressMusic sibling the new Nokia 5630 is far from a conventional music phone - a fully fledged member of the S60 family, this slender smartphone has a host of unlikely talents, such as being the slimmest N-Gage device yet at just 12mm thin.

Read on for details of Nokia’s newest music phone and get the full lowdown on its surprising features.

Of course, Nokia has first ensured that the new 5630 XpressMusic ticks the musical boxes. Comes with Music enabled in selected countries, it’s ready to soak up to 3,000 songs into its slender shell via a 4GB microSD memory card that comes in the box. Likewise, its tuneful talents extend to the ’say and play’ feature (first debuted on the 5320 XpressMusic last year), letting you speak the name of an artist of track to automatically play it. Plus, the Nokia 5630 comes loaded with a 3.5mm headphone connector, stereo Bluetooth, FM stereo and Internet radio to wrap up its music credentials. Now here comes the twist…

Alongside those core talents sit some unusual but welcome suspects on the features front. I was wondering why a CD/DVD which contains the Nokia PC Suite, wasn’t included in the E75 sales package. Then I found out that the PC Suite is there in the 4GB memory card, which is provided with your E75.

If you are wondering how to install the PC Suite from MicroSD memory card, this is how you do it.

* Ensure the memory card is inserted in your Nokia E75
* Connect your E75 to the PC via USB cable
* Select mass storage as the USB connection mode in your E75

The E75 is displayed as a removable disk in My Comuter. Open the root of the memory card drive with Windows file browser, and select PC Suit installation file.

The installation starts. Follow the displayed instructions.

I don't know about you but even with a QWERTY keyboard, I still have apprehensions with having to type antidisestablishmentarianism on the Nokia E63. Today while playing with the phone, I suddenly (re)discovered the predictive text feature.In notes, Create SMS, email or whatever, press the left selection key and go to Input Options --> Predictive text --> On. As you type a word, the phone will try to guess what you are trying to type. To accept the suggestion, just press spacebar. If not, keep typing and the phone will continue to try guess the rest of your word. It's quite nifty, especially if the phone is learning words as you go along. Does it? not sure. Anyway.. try out this feature and next time you need to use a 21 character word, you'll smile to yourself as you save heaps of time

OK the admission is that the Nokia E63 is definitely not the first phone to do this but many people probably don't realise that their Nokia E63 can read out their emails and messages by pressing and holding the left selection key when a new sms or email comes in.

If an sms just arrived, the phone will read out the SMS. Then, if there are emails in your mailbox which are still marked as unread, it can continue reading those emails as well. The voice is reasonably easy to understand.

If you press the left selection key, it will pause the reading. Pressing the right selection key will stop the reading altogether. This is extremely useful if you are driving and would like an sms read out to you or if you are in bed and don't want ot open your eyes to read the sms :) How many of you didn't know this? * You can now backup your internal memory. Put it to the memory card using Options and select
Back up now.
* If it has finished, you can go to your homescreen dial pad for tapping out this, *#7370# (this is
the code for asking hard reset can be used for all S60 phones). So it will wipe the whole C drive and
the phone will create again the necessary folders. Your device will restart.
* Back to your File Mgr for checking the free space on your C drive (it should show 88MB)
* Choose on Backup again then Options and Restore
* Check the entire content boxes then click OK. It will need time to restore the whole data back
* You can restart your phone
* Back to File Mgr, notice that now you have more free space located on C drive.

This tip can be used when you face this kind of problem. When entering the text for your library of the predictive text, you probably misspell some words. Take for instance you entering ‘dy’ instead of ‘by’ and so on. The continuous process of that will produce a huge number of the wrong predictive text. In this case, it becomes hard for you to correct them. And of course those misspelled words will disturb your activity when making a text message or browsing.

Just use the trick to reset the T9 library, so you don’t have to waste time anymore finding the right word:

Open your file browser like X-plore or Y-Browser
Find the C-Drive of ur device
Find inside the “Predict” folder
Click it so you can see this file: “101F8615_F.dat”
Delete that file

By doing this, your text library will be reset so you need to start your new library.

Those who still having problem changing fonts on your E65 phone, here is the solution....

Tested and works nicely on E65 (using Verdana font) with this firmware :

Note : to get your phone firmware, press *#0000#

What you need :
-PC
-PC card reader
-Y-Browser or F-Explorer programs in your phon

Steps:
1. Using Y-Browser or F-Explorer, go to directory “z:” (of your phone memory). If you do not have these program, go search the forum
2. Under the “z:” folder, go to folder named “resource”
3. go to folder named ”fonts”
4. you will see list of fonts file used by your phone. Note down name of each file. Most likely you will see;

S60SC.ccc
S60TCHK.ccc
S60ZDIGI.ttf
SWABIU.ttf
SWABRU.ttf
SWARIU.ttf
SWARRU.ttf

5. Take out your phone memory card and put it into your PC card reader
6. In your PC, go to folder C:/Windows/Fonts
7. Copy the “verdana.ttf” font file (or any other font file you prefer)
8. Duplicate font file you copied above (in this case you have to duplicate 7 times) and rename them exactly as mentioned under step 4
9. Access your memory card and find folder named “resource”. If there is no such folder, create one.
10. Under the “resource” folder, create a folder named “fonts”
11. Copy all files you created under step 8, and paste under the “fonts” folder you just created under step 10
12. Put back your memory card into the phone and turn on the phone

Your phone should now have new fonts

If you want to revert back to original font, just delete all files you created under step 11 and remove the “fonts” folder (in your memory card “resource” folder)

Just a little trick to save battery power

Menu -> Tools -> Setting -> Connection -> Wireless LAN -> Options -> Advanced Settings

(choose "yes" )

Automatic config -> disabled -> TX power level -> Options -> Change -> (change 100 mW to 4 mW) -> OK

this will economise batery but wifi will be more difficult to use

So what's the use of saving battery power if u can't use wifi effectively ? I guess just turn of your WLAN wizard (WLAN scanning off) and SHOW avilability to "NEVER". Otherwise if you are using your WIFI then you don't have the choice. The new firmware for N80 4.0707.0.7 has improved a bit better for battery consumption.

How to Delete Themes On Nokia Symbian 3rd

Many people have experienced a bug where they will install a theme on their device but when they try to remove it using the Application Manager there is no entry for it. I still see this problem on the latest N80IE firmware and on newer firmware for other devices as well. Don’t despair though, as long as you install your themes to your memory card there is an easy way to remove those unwanted themes.

1. Connect your device to your PC in ‘Mass storage’ mode - or insert your Mini SD card into a card reader and connect it to your PC.

2. Once your PC recognizes your card a new drive will appear under ‘My Computer’. Open it, and browse to \private\10207114\import.

3. Browse through each of the folders in this directory to find the theme you would like to remove. The MBM, MIF, and SKN files in each folder should each be named after the theme - so if you want to remove a theme called “MyTheme”, look for “MyTheme.mbm” etc.

*Note that you may see some MBM/MIF/SKN files named simply “themepackage.mbm” etc. In this case, simply open the SKN file in Notepad and you will see the actual theme name in the first few lines of text. Here is an example:

In the example you can see that the actual name of the theme is N80 Simplified v2 (created by teddymustupo).

4. Once you’ve found the folder containing the theme files you’d like to remove, simply delete the contents of the folder (don’t delete the folder itself).

Now put your card back in your phone you’ll notice that the theme is no longer listed under themes and you’ve freed up some space on your memory card

Basically Ultimate Voice Recorder is great recording application which can record every sound, not only sound from Visual Radio or internet radio but every single sound that your phone emanates and sound comes around your phone. That's why, before recording make sure your surrounding is quite.
I don't know with another recorder, maybe they can record from radio too. I also attach a recorded files from Visual Radio in wav format as a sample.

With the E71 you don’t need to do all settings to set up Gmail imap, which you need to do with other S60 devices from Nokia. On Nokia E71, it is pretty dynamic, it will find all on its own, when you enter your username and password.

To configure IMAP for your Symbian S60 device, just follow these steps:

* Enable IMAP in your Gmail settings.
* Select ‘Messaging’ > ‘Options’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘E-mail’ > ‘Mailboxes.’
* If you have never set up email on your phone before, select ‘Yes’ to define a new mailbox. If you already have other mailboxes, select ‘Options’ and then ‘New mailbox.’
* Select ‘Start’ to begin the setup wizard.

* Select ‘IMAP4′ and then ‘Next.’
* Enter your full email address (including ‘@gmail.com’) as the email address and select ‘Next.’ Google Apps users, enter your full address in the format ‘username@your_domain.com.’
* Enter ‘imap.gmail.com’ as the incoming mail server and select ‘Next.’
* Enter ’smtp.gmail.com’ as the outgoing mail server and select ‘Next.’
* Select the appropriate access point and then ‘Next.’
* Enter a descriptive name for the email account mailbox name.
* Once your mailbox is set up, select it from the email mailbox settings screen.
* Select ‘Connection settings’ > ‘Incoming e-mail.’
* Enter your address (including ‘@gmail.com’ or ‘@your_domain.com’) and password.

1. To bring out the Shortcuts on your Screen - Desktop-> Settings/Personal/Home Screen/Home Screen Theme and select Shortcut bar, you can then select which shortcut to display if goto “Shortcuts”. This will also bring out the “Track” playing being displayed when you open the Music Player.

2. Tap the Clock to bring out the Clock menu and make your alarm, alarm repeat is now built-in.

3. Tap the “General” or Date (the set Profile besides the clock) and the Profile selection menu pops out, almost similar to pressing the “Power” button in all S60, but here the Remove memory is not shown, but “Calendar” shortcut is included and the other profiles as well.

4. If you are on the Numeric Keypad, pressing the [#] key alternately will toggle the General and Silent Profiles, same as before, which means long press on zero [0] will bring out bookmarks for the Web.

5. Tapping on the displayed To do or Calendar entry will bring you immediately to that particular item.

6. Tapping the Active Icon on the Top Left (near the battery indicator) will give you shortcuts for any of the active icons.

7. Long press on the Green Call Button will still activate the Voice Command Prompt.

8. Long press on the center button is similar to the Long press on the “Menu” key (the yin-yang key on most S60) which will bring out the menu for all the active applications.

9. Go to Applications/File Manager and setup “Backup” for automated backup schedule of your phone data.
